Darren Farwell has earned a reputation as a respected expert in understanding and managing the many challenges of retirement today, particularly in regard to creating highly tax efficient lifelong income. His depth of knowledge, clear & easy to understand speaking style and the 28 years of real life stories have made Darren a popular public speaker, presenter and subject expert for the media.
After completing his Honours Bachelor of Commerce, from McMaster University, and obtaining his Canadian Securities Course Certificate in 1984, Darren began his career in the investment business. Then, in the fall of 1988 Darren began working as a Wealth Advisor at ScotiaMcLeod, (then McLeod Young Weir), in the Head Office branch where he has been ever since. His entire career has been and still is focused on creating highly tax efficient, lifelong income for his clients. Darren has been recognized as a member of ScotiaMcLeod’s top advisor group from all across the country, called Chairman’s Council, every year since 2004. Darren is now a Senior Wealth Advisor, Director of Wealth Management for Scotia Wealth Management.
Darren works with clients, presents and speaks in all areas of personal finance. Over the years, he has achieved a long list of industry designations and licenses including Portfolio Manager, Canadian Investment Manager, Financial Management Advisor, Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), Personal Financial Planner (PFP), as well as being named a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. He has also become a licensed insurance representative and Senior Portfolio Manager. Darren shares his knowledge as a regular contributor discussing personal finance on CNN, CP24, City TV and 740am radio station.
Darren has three children, enjoys opera, museums, many sports and he always has his fingers crossed (behind his back) for the Leafs.

Leslie has worked in the Financial Services industry since 2000, and joined ScotiaMcLeod as a Wealth Advisor in 2003. She received her BBA in Finance and Economics from Bishop’s University, and has earned the internationally recognized Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation. In addition, Leslie holds the Financial Management Advisor (FMA) designation and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI).

Patrick is an avid student of the markets, favouring time-tested value investments to increase returns while assuming less risk. Patrick’s interest in investing ignited at age 12 while delivering newspapers in his home province of Nova Scotia. He is well on his way to earning his Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Analyst designations, which will allow him to apply extensive market expertise tailored to clients’ unique circumstances. Patrick joined ScotiaMcLeod in 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance at Saint Mary’s University.

Tim joined The Farwell Group as an Investment Associate in 2009 to provide premium service to the team’s group business and private clients. As a Chartered Investment Manager®, his expertise lies in designing portfolios that will create the growth, preservation of capital, or income stream that will get them to and guide them through retirement. Tim graduated with Honours Bachelor of Arts from Wilfred Laurier University in 2005 and went directly into the investment industry. Since then, Tim’s clients have come to expect the friendly, prompt and skilled service he provides.

Mike joined ScotiaMcLeod in 2008, and subsequently joined The Farwell Group in 2010 as an Investment Associate. He is a Chartered Investment Manager and provides expertise in tax-effective portfolio management and retirement planning to The Farwell Group's corporate and private clients. Prior to working in finance, Mike was a Class AAA member of the New Zealand PGA and the Director of Golf at a well-respected golf club in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Eddy joined ScotiaMcLeod in 1999 after graduating from McGill University with a BA in Economics. He was awarded the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation in 2006 and the Fellow of CSI (FCSI) designation in 2009. His primary focus as a Wealth Manager is working directly with affluent clients to articulate their life goals and translate them into a clear financial plan for their future. Over the years, Eddy has developed particular expertise in equity and new issue trading.

Andrew started his career in the investment industry in 1993 when he joined ScotiaMcLeod as an Investment Advisor. Andrew teamed up with The Farwell Group in 2007 and he currently specializes in equity and new issue trading via bottom-up company analysis and technical trends. Andrew has his options licence, insurance licence and has also completed the Equity Trader Training Course.

Lisa holds her Canadian Securities Course and has worked in the financial industry for more than 15 years, specializing in the brokerage side since 2009.
